The files are still on your disk. When you tell the computer to delete files the computer simply sets a bit on the disk which means the space on the disk where the files reside can now be over written. You can recover the files but DON'T WRITE ANYTHING to the disk until you do so since you may overwrite some of the files you want to recover. There are many programs which will let you recover files. QuarterBack Tools, AmiBack Tools are a couple of commercial examples, but there are also shareware programs. I'm not sure of the names of any of the shareware programs.
