I've read messages in this thread that have attached a number to the word zorro. Is every slot a zorro slot? I don't see that name anywhere inside my machine. Is this a nickname for something? What other names equal the word zorro? When you say that adding ram via "a card that fits into a zorro slot" is that a new and separate card from what my system currently has? Is it a good idea to bypass the adding of ram to the 2630 or 2091 and just add another card? ——————- btw– Richard, Ron, and anyone else reading this thread– I video taped the insides of the hard drive just so I can refer to it while typing. <g> The 2091 board's place for chips is completely filled with chips. The manual has a few pages addressing the subject of adding RAM chips to this board. I can't figure out why they'd put that in the book if the spaces are already filled. Are these chips supposed to be replaced if I want to increase ram? The book doesn't say that. The "Jumper 1" pins are set to "0 Kilobytes" –the manual says that is the factory setting. Can I move the jumper up to the 2 megabyte setting since all the chip recepticles are filled? Wouldn't that just solve my problem and give me access to two additional MB of ram? I'm very tempted to try that. If I did, what's the worst that can happen? Would I loose all the stuff on the hard drive if it proves to be an incorrect step? Vicki …from the middle of the puzzle after nearly 2 weeks at it and making NO progress ps –the order for chips was cancelled; the shop owner said that he didn't feel confident that he was sending me the correct ammount of chips. Back to square one. 🙁
