I've had two IDE drives in my 4000 for quite a while – the stock 120MB and a
340MB Conner. It recognized them just fine. However, when my Conner died and
I replaced it with a Western Digital 420MB, the Amiga wouldn't recognize the
420MB Drive on a cold boot, even if it was the only drive in the system. I
don't think it's a problem with the OS, these bigger drives just don't spin up
fast enough.
