The cost of a hardware emulator is definately a drawback.. but in the case
of where desk real estate is critical or people want to share on their
exisiting peripheral investment, an emulator is very cost effective. For
instance, the $200 people have paid for the CBM 386/25 BB is very
worthwhile. With the upcoming Emplant 486DX emulator, the need for
hardware becomes moot, and at the same time the performance is more than
adequate for most uses.
