Charles, "Pad"-ing the canvas is a darn good idea, thanx. I hate it when I miss those 'simple' solutions. As always, the members of the Amiga Forum have proved invaluable! I ended up avoiding the problem. I wanted an expanding, circular wave for a radio tower (rendered in Imagine) and used the circle drawmode/brush draw/additive transparency with auto fade on to create the effect. Phew, what a keyboardful! It's a comp for a business card. We'll see if he likes it. Thanx, Jan
