I tried running GVPCPUCTRL before SETPATCH as you suggested and it worked. Why did this work instead of running it later? But…I'm still getting the other crash with FORMAT and some other programs. I ran AlertPatch to get a better description of the GURU. The FORMAT GURU says…. Task 0x011B4558 PRT Error 0x8000000A (DEADEND) by Processor cause Line 1010 Emulator Error Final Writer also causes the same GURU exept the task is FW1_Process.1 Once in a while everything will work great..no GURU, but this is getting frustrating rebooting the machine until all is working correctly. I've tried dumping all utilities that I normally run at startup..but I get the same results, so a software conflict doesn't seem to be the problem. Ray Tronix Micro Systems
