Consenting adult sex is a far cry from illegal drug manufacture or child
molestation, John. I'm surprised at you for making this comparison. While it
is true that the same technology is used for manufacturing drugs as is
manufacturing illegal drugs I don't see the connection you seem to in the adult
nudity CD-ROM business. If there were illegal activity like those you used as
an example then I'm sure the operations would be shut down immediately suspects
arrested, etc. My concern was just that the display of this product was
inappropriate for the conduct of a show like Comdex. Some will disagree with
me on this. You can pick any computer mag these days and see advertising of
these products and that's why my comment that representation of this portion of
the legal industry was proportionately represented. What do you think about a
company advertising dongle busters? Let's say they even had a booth across the
isle from the SPA? Now that would be interesting! (I'm beginning to ramble)
>>O.K. so if this is the case why would you want to see this practice condoned
or continued?
I would like to see this practice at shows like Comdex discontinued. But, I do
not wish to support movements to outlaw any industry that attempts to operate
in a legal fassion to the letter of the law. I also believe that the concept
that the sole mode of operations of this industry is to exploit lack of human
dignity is very much debatable. Frankly I am more concerned with the graphic
violence in game software than about some beautiful lady posing in satin and
lace. However, the public should not have either shoved in his face while
attending Comdex. Relating commercial nudity art forms to politics and
economic philosophy is a bit far fetched but I would agree that a proliferation
and obsession with this type of art is an indicator of moral decay in any
society. Noticed I used obsession, not appreciation.
You keep mentioning NAB sanctity. Well I've got news for you Captain Video!
<G> When NAB was in Atlanta a few years ago there was far more sex in selling
products than even today at Comdex. When was the last time you watched TV?
1955? I know how this animation career robs us TV time but really now. TV
beats Playboy Mag. for nudity anymore.
