You're basically true, C= France heavily relying on PCs and suffered from
big losses when the decision to drop PCs has been taken. But they are
other reasons : they got involved in sports like soccer and sailing,
putting huge amounts of money… Their ads. didn't even mention 'Amiga',
just Commodore, which doesn not always ring a bell to possible customers!
Moreover, they sponsored a sailing world tour record which remained a
success only for a few months : the record has been stolen twice since
then! And I can remember daily reports on French TV where you could not
spot the Commodore name (which was printed on the sails), but you could
easily seen the Mac used aboard! Silly isn't it?!
C= France employees haven't been paid their 2 last months.
The company called Amiga Computer Export France is something owned and
driven by Alwin Stumpf, head of C= Germany, settled in Frankfurt. It just
allows people to order C= stuff, but in no way does replace the late C=
France. (No presence in shops, malls etc.)
