Using your example: picture the lower jaw as a hemishpere with 13 wedges, with
the hemi-sphere's left lip being the lower lip of the mouth. The small
subgroup should be the first cross-section (lip wedge) at the left. The large
subgroup should be all the cross-sections starting from the lip-wedge (include
the small subgroup in your selection), down to wherever you like, say the
seventh wedge.
