This is a simple example, but it shows you how it works.

What if, for example, I do a line drawing in a paint program and CONVERT IMAGE
into the detail editor, clean up the extra points I sometimes get with that
option, and want to fill these particular points and edges with faces…do I
have to do it with ADD FACES or can I use the FILL TO EDGE LINE? I thought I
read somewhere that it could be used in this way but I have yet to figure it
out, although I have not spent much time really trying so far. I would like to
use this option on some ruins that I am trying to add to an undersea world
surreal kind of scene.
BTW, your suggestion about placing the "gumballs" turned out to be a good one,
as usual. I just modified the plan slightly. After I Made the cube of spheres
(that sounds strange <g>) and placed them in the glass part of the gumball
machine (which was not perfecly round, but it worked this way anyway) and
deleted the renegade gumballs outside of the glass, I then selected whole
sections of the gumballs and moved them either up or down slightly to get rid
of some of the perfectly stacked look. I then added about five more spheres
and manually placed them on top of the group of gum to randomize the cluster
just a little bit. It worked well and looks about as close as I could get it.
I have a little bit of texture tweaking to do on the scene yet, but it should
be done this week and uploaded (just in case you were curious).
Thanks for all the help and advice you give to all here, I would not be able to
accomplish anywhere near what I am right now (however much that really is <g>)
without all the extremely valuable help you have given me. Just wanted to let
you know that you and all your time spent is appreciated.
