There are still users who fervently hope that the never-quite-finished C65 computer would be polished up and released by Commodore. It may be a vain hope, but at least that machine was reputed to be compatible with "unintelligent" drives, so that the 1541 and its cousins would not be a necessary part of a system, and HD would be a snap. It's strange, but many stunning 64 "demos" are still appearing, mostly from Europe, with graphics, animation and sound that have never been matched on the bigger, more expensive machines .. not even on the Amiga, which should be a natural for this kind of thing (well, perhaps excepting the Eric Scwartz stuff). –Jim
