Interesting comment – missile launches… I've supplied Amiga systems to NASA at Vandenberg Air Force Base here to use in sophisticated telemetry systems for missile launches there. NASA has a VERY small installation at VAFB (it would have been MUCH bigger had not the shuttle exploded and caused a cancellation of VAFB's shuttle launch facility which was already built). NASA/VAFB originally had an A1000 with special multi-line serial boards (custom built) and upgraded to a pair of A2500/ECS systems about 2 years ago. They loved the multitasking capability for the cost – and they went with the 2500 because of all the slot space for their special boards. I saw the installation and their use, which was pretty mundane, but sophisticated.
