I spent many months tracking this problem down with the SB 16s… I actually
had to downgrade various drivers to get rid of the problem.
Check the dates of your SB16 drivers with these below, and let me know if you
have newer.
I have had many problems with the newer drivers from Creative Labs…
sb16aux.drv 8/14/94
sb16fm.drv 6/8/94
sb16snd 8/3/94
all wflt00xx.dlls 12/6/93
all wfm00xx.acv's 7/11/94
Also, make sure you have "Skip Frames if Behind" checked under Device,
Configure in Media Player.
