Bob, glad you liked it. The lightning or spark effect was created using 3 objects. First I created a flat object that looked real jagged like a spark should. This object was colored bright green and you can see it is the center object. Then I created a second flag object that was wider than the first object. I extruded that object and created a fog object out of it. I placed the fog object behind the first object not surrounding it. If I had put the fog object around the inner spark it would have diffused the edges which is not what I wanted. Then I created a third object with a very light fog setting to go around all three. I will post the actual fog settings later as I can not run Imagine at this moment. Also to your other question, I used raytrace mode, you could not get a real glass effect with the scanline. There are shadows on the wall and on the chips and chisle. I used about 20 lights in and around the scene very close to the objects with controlled falloff. The reason there are no hard shadows is because of the many lights coming from all directions.
