If you like I'll zip up the 2 tga files, the one where the image is normal, and the next one where the tunnel effect occurs. It happens for two frames and then renders normal after that. I could also zip up the .cob of the object, but it's just text extruded once. What I think might be happening is that the movement of the camera is physically trying to pass through the lettering at the point this happens.
