Sam >anyone find the new startrek boring dumb and somewhat femministic-ish? After 26 years as a computer science career militay officer, I test the Star Trek characters credibility with by attempting to remember actual officers who fit the fictional personalities. James Kirk was the hardest to match. He sort of fit some Naval officers I knew, but it wasn't until the Tail Hook scandle that I could belive he was real enough to not be silly. The Voyager female officers are comming off a whole lot more credibly than Kirk ever did. Yeah the PC casting is trite, but these Star Trek shows need a little time to develop their characters, and Voyager has a good running start. And how about the doc with a programmer's personality … >The women through out the whole show treated men as idiots! In a massive attempt to suspend disbelief I tell myself the senior officers in the Federation Pentagon of the future said:"to hell with engineering sense and budget overuns, I like the looks of that one and looks get budget dollars (or credits or whatever it is they spend)" come to think of it, egotistical self serving senior officers in the federation future don't require much of a leap of faith … Denny
