Lance, I agree with Heidi. You're not often going to get a "stunning" effect like you can with the Gradient designer, however, I have gotten a few wonderful, unique effects that I can't do without Convolver. For example, Convolver and thin text work very well together. Embossed letters come quickly in explore mode (uncheck the tint influence). Then, create a drop shadow for the text and explore some more. To get a chrome effect use thin black letters and explore (again without the tint). Have you gotten your fifth star yet? It's reward is my favorite feature. Use the hints if you don't like the carrot-dangling thing. Then, when you get your star, sit back and wait for something cool to appear. IMHO, Convolver is worth the money. On the mundane side alone, it gives you excellent control and allows interaction between effects that you can't easily do with most filters. I had actually canceled my Convolver order once I saw the ads. But, bless their hearts, they sent it anyway. And I guess I needed something cool in the mail that day, because I installed it anyway.
