Thanks for all the info Tim.
I'm just starting my first commercial project (Game artwork is all I can say),
so I'm going to keep this short.
>> Have you ever seen Greg Rostami demo Animation Master here in LA? He's
been at numerous conventions including the VTU conference in Dec. and 3D Art
Forum (naturally <g>). If you missed 'em, your next opportunity will probably
be at SIGGRAPH in August. <<
Haven't been to any conventions yet. I'm looking into SIGGRAPH, but it's
doubtfull if I'll be there due to numerous problems. I'd love to go though.
>> Yes, you can do many equivalent things in Imagine, but splines offer a
different kind of flexibility than polys. They have a more fluid sculptural
feel. The main reason I recommend people look at it for character animation is
the spline modeling. It lends itself well to creating characters, both
realistic and bouncy cartoony-looking. <<
I guess I'll have to get a look at this some how.
>> Also, because of the current refit of the program, it might be wise to
wait until the next release comes out in a few months before making any
decisions <<
I'm in no hurry since I wont have any money for a while (except what I've
saved for WinImagine).
I gotta get started on this project of mine, so I'll probably be laying low
for the next few days (weeks?) except for my usual questions.
