One clarification, James. When I told them it was in writing and I was told that there was a big conflict about this as well as the beta testers paying to do testing for them. Remember that? I WAS told that all the beta testers had protested this pricing structure. They did not try to play ignorance with me. You and I must have spoken to different people. Face it, when you have the highest price IPAS in the business it better be very good. Fact is it really was nothing that special and the market told them that. After visiting COMDEX and seeing all the new animation tools we will have with Windows NT I think many, including 3DS will have to take a big re-evaluation of their price structure. Either 3DS r5 will be feature competitive with Alias and Soft Image or it will have to compete with the other products doing the same thing for $200 to $1000 range. The end of the year will be very interesting in the animation software industry. I played with a Windows product that sold for <$200 and it appeared to do just about everything that 3DS will do without the IPAS. It was very competitive with 3DSr2. One of the biggest competitors will be Lightwave for the PC. I think we all will need to watch this product develop on windows NT. I was very impressed with it at $795.
