$700 for the Razor Pro NT upgrade would be the perfect way for In:sync to kill
off what appeared to be a promising product. I can't recall a product
virtually doubling in price for a platform migration or a feature upgrade.
Looks like Premiere will be the only way to do editing without losing one's
shorts. Won't the Windows version of Razor Pro function under NT? If yes why
would one upgrade at all? If you take 3DS as a case in point, the amazing new
features of the upgrade to R3 cost less than 15% of the total package price of
R2. Most of my other programs have cost 25% or less to upgrade when a new
version has come out. At $1500 + could Razor Pro be 400% better than Adobe's
Premiere? I find it a tough question right now as Premiere can be had for half
the cost of Razor Pro. To snag a huge market share I always thought the
opposite strategy would work – double your features and cut your price. This
makes the competition bleed and scramble as you get new customers and the
accolades from satisfied customers who believe you are revolutionizing the
industry. Sorry to rant in your direction, I hope for an official In:sync
response. (Jamie, could you describe Razor Pro for NT and specifically what it
will cost new and as an upgrade to the Windows version?)
