#Funny story. ?
At Comdex/ Windows World. I was cruising the 3d programs. Kinda looking for a
spline/patch modeler. Found one tucked away in a little corner booth. Talked to
one guy. Program looked good. Lost his attention. Grabbed another. Asked about
cost. It was more than I wanted to spend and a little to close to my upgrade to
R4 cost.
I told him what I was looking for and why and that I was using 3DS-R1 and was
happy and would be upgrading when the money came together. That is, I told him
how to sell me his product. Instead of following my generous lead, this guy
tried to unsell me 3DS.
I told him "Don't try to unsell me 3DS. I am commited to that and am looking
for…." He interjects, "Why? It's just a flying logo generator. Here, I'll
show you…" As he turned to show me, I turned to go. As I walked away, I
regreted not laughing out loud at him.
Heck, saved me some bucks. That much closer to R4.
