Yeah…. Considering the problems I had ( no where near as bad as trying to get
my scanner to work with my SCSI card) but still, annoying enough,
I'm sure many people will have questions / problems with the move to NT.
It is a fairly amazing Opsys.
It feels solid, I really can't explain it, but so far, I like it.
Win 16 apps are noticably slower. but Win 32 apps fly.
Simple things like moving or re-sizing windows just have a MUCH better feel. I
had it import all my WFWG groups andhave been trying each app to see what
works. Several apps crashed, but nothing seems to stop the system dead, also,
not having to worry about "system resources" is a BIG, BIG plus. I had
Photoshop, Premiere, and Elastic Reality all opened at the same time and there
was no (at least not a noticable) slowdown at all. With all three apps open, (
and Fast, Alt/Tab switching enabled) I can intstantly switch between apps. Much
better than than the Windows Task Mgr. " Switch to" routine.
All in all, after only about an hour or two , I can FEEL the power of this
system.
Now, more than ever, I know Autodesk / Yost Group made the best possable
decision.
See ya'
