Alec, Thanks for your speedy reply. 90%! Jesus, that's pretty severe. When 20% crashing seems positive, something is definitely wrong. Doesn't sound like DPS's customer support is all that stellar, either. I'm getting the sense from you and others that they would rather just not deal with any problems that come up. I suppose I'll find out for myself when I call them tomorrow. Reserving judgment until then. Victor mentioned using a fan and I'm going to try that, although my drive really doesn't seem to be running all that hot. Still hoping someone will give me a miracle answer but I suppose that is unlikely. Will let you know how things turn out. Alan
