Hi Carlton, indeed the sculptures you are refering to are carved in wood. The wood is the treated and painted with a very interesting texture. There are also bronze versions of this sculptures which are casted from the originals. To me he is one of the greatest painters alive today. I guess we 3d artist have more than a little nostalgia for the "real" thing… Saludos Arturo
