Artists and Animators of Connecticut
Meeting May 9th 7pm
Unfortunately turnout was low at our last meeting due to a foul-up with the US
Mail between CT and CA. Those of you lucky enough to get a copy of the
newsletter will notice that most of the information here is the same. This is
due to the fact that all this information is still pertinent, I want to make
sure that everyone has received it. Welcome to the group Aleksey Popelyukhin,
co-author of the Camera Mapping (IPAS) available exclusively from Digimation,
$95. Aleksey and his partner Oleg Buydorodin (still residing in Moscow) are
collectively known as Video International and have some new routines in the
works which he will speak about at the next meeting.
Group Library The group library is full of wonderful stuff for FREE. Please
feel free to help yourself. A laptop will be set up at the back of the room and
will be available throughout the meeting. It is set up so you simply insert a
blank disk, select the letter of the software you want and everything else is
automatic. In most cases each letter represents a full disk (1.44M).

works within both Aura and Flare to create gas clouds, explosion dust, smoke,
and an infinite number of like effects. Also included with the package is
Fractal Universe a new PXP/BXP animated fractal map generator which we will be
showing at the next meeting. For more information call 1-800-854-4496.
Show Your Work We encourage you to bring examples of your work to the meetings
in any format. It is not necessary that you stand in front of the group and
give a presentation but it gives everyone a broader appreciation of the
accomplishments of the group as a whole to see what fellow users are doing with
the products. Last month demo reels were shown by Digimation (NAB demo reel),
and Bob Grasso (North Country Media) showed off their demo reel composed mainly
of his own work. It is the intention of the group to compile a yearly demo reel
that shows off the work of the group as a whole. Maybe even have a yearly
animation awards where the group takes a vote and the winners go on the yearly
reel. Any input on this matter would be appreciated.
