Greg: problem seems to be that when leaving out some of the _complete_ formula for the sunpath you can (for some days of the year) get very wrong results. I.e. the constantly changing distance between sun and earth can (at least here in Switzerland) make up a difference of the eff. sunposition of up to 50 minutes. So, if a software regards this distance as a constant number the results are nothing more than unusable. In architecture where the allowance to build (mostly big) new complexes depends often also on the shadows shed on neighbour buildings, working with wrong shadows in visualizations can make up a difference of some million bucks in the worst case…. Although we state in our contracts that we're in no way responsible of the accuracy in our visualizations we have to be sure that we're doing our best in that matter. As far as we calculated the results with formulas from the university, we found your sunpath IPAS to be very exact indeed. It really seems it needs bright guys to bring good shadows….<g> Thanks for the quick R4 update! – Alex.
