Alec, Well, like I said before I don't know why I have been so lucky. (Crossing
my fingers) But my PAR has not crashed once in the almost 5 months that I've
had it. Right now I'd be really sad if it did, as I don't have a backup. 🙁 My
very next purchase is going to be a DAT drive. Anyway, maybe you just received
a defective drive. I keep my block limit pretty low also (220). I tried using
240 per DonL but ran into some animations getting corrupted. With 220 I don't
have any problems. I feel for you though. Losing stuff sucks. Especially if it
was long render time stuff. On that note, I just found out that doing large
LenZFX Aura's on a 486/66 is not a good idea. <g> I was up to 3 hr's per frame
for a lousy glow. I sure hope an Alpha system is within my budget come fall.
