it's so. but hey, this is it's first release. every program's debute starts out
on some platform. if we look to every great program Autodesk has ever produced,
they got their start on a single platform. as to the future of AStudio, no one
can comment about any product's future, but with the increasing marketshare of
Win95 and NT, it's pretty easy to see the writing on the wall. in my
experience, Win95 and NT are still nothing in marketshare compared to Win3.1.
it makes complete sense that the program was written for the "common man"
first. i think many of us here forget how entrenched we are in technology
compared to the rest of the nation, and i say this without any level of
snobbery… the product caters to the majority at this time. keep in mind that
it is not solely catered to the "traditional Autodesk customer" either. <g>

no problem, ernie. i think of all software products that way. it is a wise
strategy. no rush. if a version comes out for Win95 or NT, it will no doubt be
built off the success of the Win3.1 version and you'll have even a better
product. patience is its own reward! <g> look how many of us have been waiting
for an NT version of 3D Studio!

perhaps AStudio is a prophet of things to come…a gearing up of the next step
in hardware demands. Windows applications have always been top heavy compared
to their DOS equivalents (gads… ever compared Wordperfect DOS to Wordperfect
Windows, or AutoCAD for Windows to AutoCAD for DOS)… ? 😉 i remember Bill
Gates saying once "why would anyone ever need more than 640K or memory?". i
remember being impressed with an AT with 8MB RAM. if i didn't know better, i'd
say a lot of people are suffering from "the comfy chair" syndrome again. <ggg>

i think AStudio is a great product for Windows 3.1. i think it has a bright
future ahead of it, and it would not surprise me in the least to see a version
which will run under NT in the future. i could be more specific though if i
knew your zodiac sign. <LOL!>
