I am having trouble with the color preferences on my A2386 BB, on an A4000. As is so often the case, my dealer was clueless but sympathetic. He called Commodore Tech Support, and they were clueless and unsympathetic. When I open a custom PC screen, PCColor reads the color settings from SIDECARSETTINGS.TABLE incorrectly. For example, let's say I have an 8 color screen and have set the colors as follows: 000 00F 0F0 0FF F00 FF0 F0F FFF If I save these settings, they get written to the file correctly. However, next time I reset the colors (either by selecting 'Restore Settings' from the PCColor screen menu, or by closing the window and reopening it, or if a PC application causes the PCColor screen to panic and go back to read the saved settings), the colors will come up as follows: 000 00F 0FF 0FF FF0 FFF FFF FFF If I repeat this procedure, by saving these settings and then resetting the colors again, the colors will come up: 000 00F 0FF 0FF FFF FFF FFF FFF You can see the pattern here. If works in 4, 8 or 16 color mode, and the pattern will be consistent. It doesn't matter location the color issaved in, i.e. whether it is the 1st, 2nd, 9th, or 13th color. The pattern goes like this: Saved color PCColor reads 000 000 00F 00F 0F0 0FF 0FF 0FF F00 FF0 FF0 FFF FFF FFF also, 700 770 etc. So, is there something wrong with my setup? If not, then how do I get C='s attention? – E Cottle
