I'm trying to set up GRn as my newsreader for dialup PPP through CIS, using AmiTCP 4.2 and PPP, both registered versions. There are 4 options: use GRn as 1 with UUCP 2 C news 3 NNTP (via ethernet/slip (AS-225 or AmiTCP) 4 NNTP via the serial port I have chosen number 4. I'm trying to follow the docs, but they are confusing. They say that NNTP must be already installed. Where can I get the NNTP program? I have been searching Aminet for it to no avail. Among the installation instructions, there are many references to uucp type files such as : "for AmiTCP users, copy GRn.amitcp UUCP:C/GRN clone". If I am not using UUCP and have not installed it, there are no such UUCP files in my system???? As an alternative to the shell, it states that: "for Workbench users only: edit the tool types contained in the project icon UUCP:C/GRn.info". Again, the reference to UUCP. The set-up also appears to use directories such as: UULIB, UUSPOOL, and UUNEWS. Do I just make them and put them in the suggested locations? Also, when I got a PARTIAL answer to the question I emailed to CIS INTERNET User Support, after waiting almost two weeks, they failed to state what type of news server they supply. Is it compatible with NNTP??? Any helpful input will be appreciated. Hank
