HDToolbox, like all the other tools I mentioned, locks up as soon as it
accesses the drive. BTW, I tried to run the drive from the external connector
of my SupraDrive 500XP as well. The programs dodn't lockup but HDToolbox showed
an error 44 whenever I tried to make it write something to the drive (save
changes)…
