I'd stronly suggest getting 3.X. You will need to install (or have someone else do it) the 3.1 ROM and then install the software. >Is the 3000 OS stored by the computer different than a 500? As I said above, some 3000's have their ROM image on the harddrive and boot from that. Others have installed the ROMs. The ROMs for the 3000 are different (there are two I think) than those for the 500.
