#Radio links
I'll keep you posted on my explorations with the JetDirect card. We
still have one program that requires Windows, otherwise, I try to
keep everyone here at the office on WinNT instead. It's so much more
reliable.
As for the radio questions, yes, I've been lusting after these 900
Mhz spread-spectrum radio modems for a fast data link. It would be a
great link between home and office, but because my office and home
are separated by six-eight blocks, it's tough to justify. It's a
three-minute commute if I hit the one stop light in-between. 🙂 But
it could be a video conferencing link, for example. It would also be
a great way to link to an Internet service provider if they were
close enough or the propogation was possible. My current provider is
33 miles away as the crow flies, and the topo maps tell me there's no
more than 100-200 feet elevation difference.
How much was that nifty video transmitter?
