#Amiga file help
Can anyone figure this out:
I downloaded a file off of the internet. I has an LHA extention, but everytime
I go to decompress it, it says that there are no files in the archive. If I
look at it with a HEX editor, in the first lines of the ASCII section it says
something to the effect of:
"This file is in BINARY format, created by _( there's a name here )_ at
5-JAN-1995 23:54:03.501018 bytes. Checksum = 0C10 XCRC = A1D1 CRC16 =
3031."
And then goes on to state the name of one of the file in the archive. Like a
normal LHA compressed file, but the "this file is in . . ." part is not normal.
Neither is the fact that the charcters in the file are standard ASCII ( A-Z,
1..100, etc ) unlike other archives where every charcter (,t,M,>,-,n,y,},,,,
etc ) are used. And note that it says that the size is 501018 bytes. But the
_actual_ file is 833,723 bytes.
Has this file been converted from a regular compressed LHA file to something
else? Are the contents of the archive gone forever? Can anybody figure this
out?
I need help. Any would be appreciated greatly. Thanks.
