To anyone transfering graphic files between the Amiga and the Macintosh: I have a Mac Performa 6115CD on one end of the room, and an Amiga 4000 on the other. Recently, I purchased the Texture Gallery CDRom set, which I read on the Macintosh, and transfer files from via disk to the Amiga side using CrossMac. The files I transfer from the CD to the Amiga — be it IFF, JPEG, PICT, TIFF, or TARGA — can all be successfully read and viewed on my Amiga, using AdPro to read in the various formats. What I cannot seem to do, and no one in Apple tech support knows why, is read and view the PICT or TIFF graphics from the CD on any of the Mac programs capable of displaying graphics (Dabbler, ClarisWorks, etc;) For some odd reason, the PICTs and TIFFs are read as Text files, not graphic files. Now, I've taken these pictures into Ad Pro, resaved them as PICT or TIFF, and ported them back to the Mac, but they will not show up as graphics. I got a call back from Fred Fish who wasn't sure why they weren't readable on the Mac. And, as I said, Apple tech was in the dark, too. So, why the one-way street with these files? Something in the header of the AdPro-created PICT files that doesn't conform to what the Mac expects to find?
