Chuck, With this new board I am haveing trouble accessing drive A. I have had to go through about 40 consecutive boot attempts in vaious combinations of hot or cold to get a session where access to drive A is normal. The symptoms are as follows: 1) clicking on the drive tab shows the clip croutons on it sometimes. Other times it will hang the machine at either the sleep pointer or the arrow head pointer. 2) when it does allow me to see the coutons on the drive, double clicking on the crouton or trying to drag the crouton to a project or files bin similarly locks the machine. 3) if I open the projects folder and try to load a project that uses clips off drive A, the machine hangs as described above. 4) other symptoms are that if I don't try to access the drive from the user interface during a session I am OK. I can digitize to that drive and use the cutting room funtions on that clip as long as it is done at the time I record it. 5) from a directory utility I can copy files to FA0: but when I copy a file from it to another non-flyer drive, the file comes accross as empty (size =0). Copying off FB0: or the audio only FC0: does not display the 0 size copy defect. The above has survived repeated Flyer Format applications. I have also stripped user-startup just about to the point that the only statments left uncommented out are the ones placed by the Flyer install. Any idea what this one is all about? I would also like to suggest that NewTek needs to supply an HD Tools type program that understands the flyer HD file system. I tried to use QBTools to see if the drive has some problems and it found that Flyer drives, have no RDB and no recognizable file system. So, since none of the standard tool boxes like HDTools, QBTools or AmiBack Tools will work, I think NewTek needs to supply that as well (for undelete, analyze, salvage and recover, integrity test etc.) I would also appreciate it if you could get a paragraph or two out of the technicos on what the following do and when they are recommended for use, as well as when should they explicitly not be used: Patch3000 Patch4000 laceset Some combination of these is either in my user-startup or WBStartup drawer on both my machines. I know some of it got there at like Toaster 1.1 (laceset, for example) and the other stuff showed up later. I've never found any info on what they do so I can't tell if any anomalies I have are due to either thier activation or lack thereof. wmc – via Autopilot!
