David McElroy asks….
You said you use Steadycam. (I assume that's the Steadycam Jr.?) What lens do
you use while using the Steadycam? The material I've read says you can't use
the 15X lens with it on the L2. How about the wide angle lens? Is it light
enough to use?
I use an L1, don't notice the red bleed that's being bantered about and
definitely don't try to use a 15x on a Steadycam… I've been trying for a
year and the only conclusion I can render, following and additional $200 of
farting around, is that
it DON't WORK!
Works OK with wide angle Canon 35 lenses and up to zoom lenses out to 105mm.
Anything else does not work…UNLESS you REBUILD the Steadycam Jr or fork
over the $$$$ for a STEADYCAM. I have essentially rebuilt the Steadycam Jr
so I will be able to use the 15x and larger… but it ain't a cheep venture.
If your going to use Steadycam Jr, which is great product BTW, use lighter
cams.
