CompuServe Messages

Tim, Although I'm new to Compuserve, I did find a neat trick to overcome your message problem. Every time you visit a forum, the message *counter* is set to tell the software the number of the last message you read. To defeat this (temporarily), choose *Messages* from the pull-down menu and then select *Set Date*… You can then give it a date before you last signed on.
