Your assumption is incorrect. 3/4" decks have had flying erase heads for 10 -15 years or more. ell, as someone who's tried it both ways–while 3/4" is preferable because you can get more composite info on the tape, you'll also need a time base corrector/digital frame buffer to get S-VHS quality This statement is also not true since every s-vhs system also has composite outs. These outputs are the same quality as transcoding S-VHS- composite thru an external TBC. Regrds Keith
