David,
I am not sure about wether or not the Alladin will work under Windows 95 now,
however by release I am sure that it will. Currently it does not have a
driver for Windows NT, which requires that all hardware devices have a software
driver that does the low-level board I/O (you cannot just poke and peek)
however, an engineer from Pinncale made a statement on the NT forum a while
back that they (he?) was working on it.
Windows NT (New Technology) is kindof like the Unix operating system.
It can be recompiled for a whole number of CPUs, and NT currently
exists on the DEC Alpha, MIPS 44/4600, Intel, and I believe the Power
PC platforms. It's strong points include multi-tasking, built-in
networking, multi-threading and distributed processing. I am sure
there are many more features to NT that I am unaware of as I am
relativly new to it.
