Ron: I'd say you're on the right track. >>Goal is as close to VHS quality as possible. I am looking for suggestions: am i on the right track, comments, problems re: Miro DC1 or Premier? How much more ram is adequate? Upgrade SS Pro? Options? I would like to get by on 1.2gig HD.<< You may be able to use just what you say you have. A faster CPU, more RAM, and a bigger hard drive are all good things for video, but if I were you'd I create my own experience with my own system. If you have that system already, try to use it. You may be comfortable with your system as is. Your hard disk will fill up very fast, especially if you're thinking about an S-VHS picture quality. I would ask what you mean by distribution? Is this for wide distribution, internal corporate use, family videos? If it is the former, I might suggest that your final output quality may disappoint you. If you'll be selling these tapes, you'll really need a higher end editing system. For industrial and corporate videos where the message is more important, the video quality is good enough to not distract. If you're distributing to aunts and uncles, you'll be a hero. Jeff
