>My company recently bought me a used Quadra 650 that has a "mysterious" Daystar card installed that I don't know what it is. There's a large chip on one end with a heat sink attached to it, so I'm asuming it may be some type of processor, but there's no drivers installed on the machine in either Control Panels or Extensions that would make me think it's either a PPC upgrade card or a cache card. Is there any way I can look at the markings on the card and find out what it is, and then locate the drivers (if necessary) to make it work? It could be several things: The following attach to the PDS connector: 1) FastCache Quadra (128K level 2 cache) 2) Quad/Image 040 (68040 accelerator and accelerator/DSP card) 3) PowerPro 601 PowerPC upgrade board (66, 80 or 100 MHz) If the board is in the NuBus slot: 1) Charger DSP board (Photoshop filter acceleration) Call our Tech Support group at 404-967-2077, they can help you identify the board and send you the necessary software.
