Is there some information on the differences between the full version and the
lite version available?
<<
Len,
There is no information online that describes the feature list of Imagine LT.
I never thought to get such a feature list from Impulse. <sorry about that>
Download the file FEATUR.TXT from the Imagine file section here. All of the
features in that list are available in the LT version except:
1) STATES
This is required for BONES animations. Things like making Gummi
Life-Savers dance. This is also necessary for TACKING (or glueing) image maps
and textures onto an object that deforms using BONES. This also lets you save
multiple poses of an object within one object file.
2) Inverse Kinematics – Imagine's IK is basic, and can come in really handy,
though you probably won't miss it much.
3) You get a reduced number of procedural textures. Imagine 3.0 Pro comes with
over 100 procedural textures….Lite I believe comes with about 30 or so.
4) You get a reduced number of special animation effects. Imagine 3.0 Pro
comes with over 10 special animation effects (Explode, Lensflare, Bounce,
etc.). Lite I believe comes with 2 or 4, again I'm not sure.
I _believe_ I covered the differences between the two. Someone else who
upgraded from LT to 3.0 hopefully will jump in and correct me if there's more.
Alternately you can leave a message for Mike Halvorson 72662,3330 over in the
Impulse section of ANVENA, or call the 800 number at the end of the FEATUR.TXT.
