>> I have a 486DX/66 with only 8 MB RAM and about 100MB hard disk space remaining << I recommend a larger (or a second) hard disk for the following reason: If you are using Windows 3.1 you will want to move to Win95 or NT to take advantage of multitasking. For example, I recently had my PC grinding 36 hours straight through on an animation in Lightwave. While it's busy working in the background, I'm modelling new objects, writing letters, etc without even noticing the background rendering. It slows down the render somewhat, but that's a small price to pay. In fact, if you have enough memory, you can render a couple of projects simultaneously. Anyway, my point is that my Win95 directory is approaching 80 megs in size. But with the price of hard disks these days, Windows 95 and another hard disk is the best upgrade you can do. Another 8 megs of ram will go a long way for you as well. I was working on an 8 meg machine with Lightwave under win95 this weekend and it operated ok, but with a large scene, I would expect rendering to slow down to a crawl as most of the work would be paged off to the hard disk. That's my 2 bits. Trev.
