Paul, as designer of the Digi-View system, perhaps I can help. First of all,
there is a way to get a black and white only image. This is not documented in
the current manual (such as it is!). To do this, raise the contrast slider
all the way to the top. This puts you into a special "threshold" mode. Any
gray level above a specific threshold value turns white, and anything below
turns black. Use the brightness control to adjust this threshold.
Regarding your questions about the palette: all the things you describe are
now under development, and will be available as an upgrade for a small fee.
The software that comes with Digi-View is quite versatile, but, in the
interest of getting the darn thing out the door, we left out a few things
like this, knowing that there is always the opportunity to' release a new
version of the software. Other things coming soon: Improved HAM pictures
(less confetti), Motor driven color wheel for hands-off color separation,
Video special effects routines which will blow away many professional effects
units, and much much more. Enjoy your Digi-View. If you have further
questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
