Agreed. "CDTV" is a lot catchier name than "CD-I"! And as you say, if CBM were to license the technology, they could have one heck of a winner. How likely is this? Dunno. Sure would make a difference. I'm not sure that a year of sales would help. After all, I bought one of the first Sony Beta units ($1400 !!) and was very happy. Years later I find myself a minority (but still happy as I can buy blank tapes)… But home interactive CD systems are more like game machines in one way at least: you must rely on prepackaged titles. People (past the first gee-whiz buyers) won't care about internal technology… they're going to want the most selection of discs and visible user features. Name brand recognition may be quite important, also. I really like one thing about CDTV tho: it should light a fire under Sony/Philips <grin>. Now if they do get their home players to market in the summer, then CBM will have only 6 months to get a foothold. Can they do it? best – kev
