You could do that IF the unit:
1. Knew where you were at all times
2. Knew where you wanted to go
3. Knew about 'main' streets vs 'side' streets
4. Knew about one-way streets
5. Knew how to read street names from the map
6. Knew what to do if you deviated from the course due to traffic,
etc.
Probably a few others things also. Without that…it'd be of
little value.
