right! I have made a (very unpopular) household rule that the kids must
also use reference books for their homework projects; as I work from home
it is not too difficult to keep an eye on that. Kids don't like it because
the CD-ROM is so easy to work with, but I want them to have some knowledge
of "traditional" paper-bound research techniques before they get totally
immersed in the electronic universe! And yes, I too wish I had access to
this technology when I was doing my term papers … in a moment of madness
I came close to going back to grad school last year, and certainly would
have expanded my ROM collection pretty quickly; fortunately, sanity
prevailed, but I do envy the kids.
