Steven: I have had good luck rendering to Targa 24bit in 3ds and then using
"aniconv" (the converter in ANIPro), switching "dither" on, and converting
to either GIF or FLC…no banding! This may not help you in using your
single frame equipment, but it is a good way to get "no banding" GIFs from
