dear OXXI, I have a file that i was updating tonight, it is the file of all the users in our club. tonight a new memeber joined the club, and i used A-N(ew) to bring up a new record. I then entered all the information that he provided (there are no required fields in this file) and got the error/requester saying "error placing record in file" or something like that, so i tried it again, same thing. so i used the vcr forward button, the save this record requester came up, and i clicked no and moved onto the next record. when i looked up the problem name SB took me right there! and when i hit the vcr forward i found i have 2 copies of the same record. i tried to delete one (when it was current) and my machine bombed, and then i tried changing the last name so wouldn't be 2 of the same record, this also crashed. guru 8000 0025 user trap. i run a 3000 w/ pp&s 040 card, 18 mg ram, 2 quantums 52/116. i tried the 030 mode and found that there is still a problem (crashes). this also happens when i try and use the process/remove command. if you can tell me what to do or if you would like a copy of the file to see if you can figure out what is the matter i can upload it or mail you a copy. any help would be greatly appriciated as i don't want to up date the whole file manually from the last backup (a little over 3 mos) <— that is my fault!
